A collection of desks

A desk can tell a lot about who a person is and where he has been. I just like to look back at old pictures to see the things that have changed over the years. Here you see a few pictures of my desks. I shall abuse them to tell about boring stuff from my past. Reminiscing is looking back through the fog of time. You see faded bits of your past, without context, without meaning. Pretty deep, isn't it?

At home

I got rid or should get rid of a lot of stuff in this picture. The speakers near my monitor are dead and the monitor itself is only just hanging in there. I've had that shirt for ages but I do not wear it anymore. It came with a sibling in blue. There are loads of pictures around with me wearing them, even on my website.
The role of toilet paper was something I brought back from York. I spent a few weeks there to learn more about crystallography and the CCP4 package. I had a desk there as well, but I never took any pictures of it. At that time, I did not have a real website yet.

I have new monitor now. The old one was not fit for normal use anymore, I now use it to watch movies from the comfort of my bed. New in this case is not as new as you would expect. The big monitor on this picture is three years older than the small one. Its age is compensated by the fact that it is a high-end monitor. It takes ages to warm up, but its worth the wait. I hope it will last a long time.
Under my printer you see two massive harddisk enclosures. They were of little use so I sold them over the Internet. What's on my printer is much more important: it's a picture of my girlfriend Myrna.
